Yes, that’s legal. The restriction on basket tosses and elevator tosses applies when the top person is tossed from below shoulders and released above shoulders AND becomes free of all bases, spotters and bracers. Braced pyramids like this are allowed. Thank you.

What is the consequence for a gym or high school doing illegal pyramids?

The first and most important consequence is the risk of having someone sustain a catastrophic injury. The next consequence that would go along with that is the liability exposure from doing illegal skills is very high and can result in a successful lawsuit. Depending on your state, the state association may have specific consequences for your team. If an AACCA certified coach is having a team perform these skills, they should be reported along with documentation and photographic or video proof and they could lose their certification.

I haven’t used this site much, so I posted this question somewhere else but am not sure where, and it seems like it belongs here.

    Is this pyramid legal?

No it would not be legal. The best way to determine if an inversion is legal is to start with the first inversion rule – inversions are illegal. Then see if the skill fits one of the listed exceptions. Since this pyramid does not fit any of the inversions that are allowed, it’s still illegal.

Extensions cannot brace libs, correct? Or you couldn’t have paper dolls connected since that would have libs bracing other libs, correct? However, you CAN have extensions bracing extensions?

Is this pyramid legal for high school? Also, if the flyers start in a load in and are connected to two other preps, could they do a back flip to a load in?

Can a single base stunt at should level brace a single base stunt at extension level if both stunts have an additional back spot for head/neck/shoulders?

Yes, they can. The spotter on the shoulder level stunt is only required if the top person’s feet are in the hands of the base, or if there is a release by the extended stunt.
